Yemi Alade Withdrew Her Statement That Stonebwoy Did Not Deserve The Award

The BETs are over and some African artistes registered their displeasure about the award ceremony. For those African Artistes, they deem it disrespectful that BET choses to give the award to the BET International African Act and UK Act category backstage, several
hours before the main event. Fuse ODG, Wizkid and Yemi Alade who were nominated spat their anger on social media about the growing concern, But of them all, Yemi Alade’s rant about the whole BET giving awards backstage got much attention in Ghana, as in a post on her Instagram page, after ranting, she indirectly mentioned that Stonebwoy did not deserve to win the BET African Act Category. She posted this earlier
““By the way…@bet_intl AFRICA IS NOT A COUNTRY!IT IS WRONG TO NOMINATE HUGE AFRICAN STARS AND PUBLICLY TRY TO HUMILIATE AFRICA.WHY ON EARTH IS THE AFRICAN CATEGORY OF THE AWARDS HELD HOURS BEFORE THE “MAIN EVENT? IF AFRICAN ARTISTS ARE NOT WORTHY IN YOUR SIGHT.” “PLS BY ALL MEANS CANCEL,DELETE,OMMIT THE “BEST INTERNATIONAL ACT (AFRICA) CATEGORY OUT OF THIS GLORIFIED AWARD. THIS IS WRONG!!! WRONG WRONG WRONG WRONG.” “Mainwhile… PLS NEXT TIME, CREDIBILITY OVER PADDYPADDY!! CREDIBILITY!!”
The comments section on that post on instagram was inundated with bashings from the BhimNatives for saying that, something, she will live to regret. A check by Ghbase.com revealed that Yemi Alade has edited her post, regretting mentioning that Stonebwoy didn’t deserve the award and also that BET was been disrespectful to African artistes by giving the award backstage.
