A man in his middle age, Jonathan Agwu was weekend electrocuted at Agba Abor Isu in Onicha local government area of the State. It was learnt that the victim was electrocuted when he went to jumper a high tension KVA line that was isolated by Enugu Electricity Distribution Company, (EDDC) even as he joined the engineers trace were there was fault.
Speaking on the incident, the Public Relations Officer of EDDC in Ebonyi, Mr. Lazarus Chiedozie Onyearugbulam stressed that the victim was not a staff of the company.
“The man went to do our work; he decided to turn himself into EDDC staff by force by climbing up to jumper line that was isolated by the company to help them trace where there is fault.
“So he went to jumper it on his own, a 33KVA high tension line and unfortunately he paid the ultimate price”. The deceased according to sources was said to be a native of Umufu village, Amanato in Isu but was not known to be an EDDC staff in the state. Ends
