Gasmilla revealed he desired to be like Ramsey Noah

Hiplife artiste, Miller Lamptey, popularly known as Gamsilla, has disclosed that he once wanted to be an actor and aspired to be like Nigerian movie superstar, Ramsey Noah.

The singer who is currently topping the music charts with his danceable tune, Telemo, disclosed on Citi Breakfast Show on Friday that despite his acting aspiration, he believed “music was my calling.”

“I always know there is someone listening to my songs and that the person has to be touched by the songs,” he said.

Gasmilla also disclosed that “I did not write a single word for Telemo and 3 points down on paper. It just flowed.”

On what inspires his choice of catchy Ga lyrics, Gasmilla said “Ga is a bit rowdy as well but if you use it well you can do a lot of things.”

He added that “with letter to the government I wanted to draw Government’s attention to fishermen who I felt had been sidelined.” Gasmilla who is known for other songs such as 3 Points, Aboodatoi, and Boshe, disclosed that his stage name, Gasmilla, is a combination of his nickname ‘Gas’ and real name ‘Miller’.

“In school, I used to play a racing game and i liked
using the speed boost. Which is where the name ‘Gas’ came from,” he added.

The Hiplife star, Gasmilla is already feeling the pressure of fame and stardom following the release of Telemo, he told Showbiz two weeks ago.

In the said interview, Gasmilla felt apprehensive about his next release, saying his challenge now has to do with providing his huge fans with a bigger hit than Telemo.

According to him, Telemo was released in 2014 and was submitted at the last edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) but did not receive any nominations.

Gasmilla is currently planning his Homowo clean-up campaign which kicks off on August 15 at Ga Mashie.
